ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

In 1991, Gregg Kaufman and Jeff Seargeant formed a partnership and began offering tax preparation and related financial advisory work as part of a traditional CPA firm. Over the years, they noticed that many of their clients were struggling with their bookkeeping and accounting operations. These critical business elements were often disorganized, inefficient and lacked systemized processes. As Gregg and Jeff assisted their clients with these common problems, they designed a model that would guide them in the development of Waypoint Solutions. Inspired by this new mission, years of experience and a successful partnership dating back to their high school tennis team, they launched Waypoint Solutions.

The Early Years
Talk about a winning team …

Jeff and Gregg met on the high school tennis court and had great success playing in LA City Championship tennis tournaments. Doubles is all about teamwork, trust, working toward a common goal and having your partner’s back. This came easy to them and their friendship grew, along with their success as a winning team. When they both became CPAs, they found they had a lot more in common, too.

After working for various CPA firms and gaining private industry experience, Jeff and Gregg realized they wanted to be entrepreneurs. Their goal: to help other entrepreneurs create success in their businesses.

They began their successful 20+ year business partnership on the tennis court with just a handshake. The same qualities that helped them win at tennis also helped them form and maintain a successful business partnership.
